Laboratory Manager/Staff Scientist
The Lab Manager will conduct and analyze experiments for research projects, resolve technical issues, and oversee all laboratory members and animal welfare compliance. They will train laboratory personnel and manage technical and administrative aspects to ensure research success. Postdoctoral Fellow
Looking for a postdoctoral fellow to examine the critical role of Ca2+-mediated resting microglia process migration and subsequent release of microglia soluble factors that could modulate synaptic activity via astrocytic ATP. Potential candidates must have a PhD in neuroscience or related fields. Prior experience performing electrophysiology, Ca2+ imaging, pharmacological manipulations, and behavioral analysis. The candidate should also have strong communication and organizational skills, work ethic and the ability to work unsupervised and interact effectively with all lab members are other important characteristics. Lab Technicians
The Smith Lab is looking for potential technician candidates that will perform research procedures related to investigation such as rodent surgery, histology of brain and other tissues, rodent colony management, genotyping, RNA, and DNA extraction as directed by principal investigators or supervisors. Duties will be supervised. Experience with rat and mouse surgery, including vessel cannulation, craniotomy and implantation of brain electrodes, and with brain immunohistochemistry is highly desirable. The candidate should also have strong communication and organizational skills, work ethic and the ability to work unsupervised and interact effectively with all lab members are other important characteristics.
